Job Description The Network Consultant will be the network technical resource for project planning, development, and implementation. You will be responsible for understanding a client’s existing environment, designing target architectures, and hands-on implementation of designs. The candidate must be independent, proactive, comfortable working in small teams with similarly elite personnel. The candidate from day one must, roll up their sleeves and hit the ground running, and bring their experience to the team to make the project deployments much smoother. Experience Requirements 7-10 years of network related experience in enterprise environments Data Center and campus migration experience In-depth knowledge of OSI layer 3 networks and protocols, including broadcast, multicast, anycast concepts, routing, etc. In-depth knowledge with various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) In-depth knowledge of OSI layer 2 and practical experience, including various flavors of STP, ARP, QOS, etc. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, load balancing, firewalls, HTTP, SSL, DNS, DHCP In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NX-OS, both Cisco Nexus 9K 7K 5K FEX and non-Nexus series switches, Cisco routers and other Cisco networking gear Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to hardware, L3/L2 deployment, application behaviors and TCP stack Solid understanding of network security methodologies, including but not limited to: ACLs, Stateful firewalls, VPNs (tunneling, IPsec, PPTP, etc.) Experience with Telco/WAN services such as Metro Ethernet, MPLS, DSL, Lit & Dark Fiber, and Cable Internet/Ethernet services including circuit selection and sizing. Experience with Cisco UCS and Fabric Interconnects Experience with Data Center Interconnect and VLAN Stretching technologies (OTV, EVPN, VXLAN) Experience with Network latency testing and mitigation Preferred Skills/Experience Cisco CCNP/CCDP or Specialty Certifications are preferred Experience with SDN (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, DNA etc) Experience with Cisco Nexus, IOS XE and XR and ASR router platforms.
