Under the management of the Infrastructure Manager, the Analyst will support the administrative, planning, operational and technical aspects of security and network operations.The Analyst is to install, administer and optimize NACG networks and cyber security related components to achieve a high degree of security and performance of the various business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of network applications (e.g. FACT & JDE), configuring all new network implementations and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the network environment.Install, configure, secure, maintain manage and support a 24/7 production network with direction from the IT Infrastructure Manager.Make recommendations in the design and review of network and security systems.Responsible for producing capacity planning reports as required.Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to security and network operations.Coordinate and collaborate with other IT and business teams to ensure availability, security, reliability and scalability of networks systems to meet business demands.Provide day-to-day support of networks:Problem diagnosis Troubleshoot Manage problems through to resolutionMaintain detailed documentation for all systems.Maintain Standard Operating Procedures documents for all systemsRecommend hardware or software changes needed to optimize systems deployments, configuration or maintenance.Provide research and professional opinions for feasibility studies on security and network products under consideration for purchase.Provide rotational on-call after hour support 7x24x365 as well as implementing changes outside of core business hours.Ensure compliance to NACG control processes and procedures, as required.Ensure IT security compliance, conforming to security standards and practices as well as provide comments when NACG standards do not meet accepted IT standards.Working within the company standard processes, including Change Management, Incident Management and Project Management Methodologies. University degree in the field of computer science or management information systems or a related discipline and/or combination of education and appropriate skills.CCNA, CCNP or industry equivalent considered and assetITIL Foundations is an asset. Must have or will pursue the Canadian Information Processing Society, ISP designation.At least five years’ work experience in a Senior Infrastructure Analyst position responsible for managing network environments. Ability to easily translate and articulate complex requirements.Excellent knowledge of networking standards and technologies.Static and Dynamic Routing technologiesNext Generation Firewall technologiesLoad Balancer technologiesLAN Access technologies (Spanning Tree, 802.1x, ext)Cloud NetworkingExperience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of network hardware and associated network equipment.Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Juniper firewalls, switches and routers is preferredIndustrial construction and/or mining industry experience preferred.Experience in Microsoft infrastructure and related technologies;Must be able to multi-task, and think quickly and logically.Must be able to work occasionally in the field at Project Sites. Knowledge of computing and network hardware and peripheral equipment.Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Ability to organize resources and establish priorities. Ability to provide technical training to clients. Ability to provide superior customer service through strong interpersonal skills.Ability to work evenings and weekends in response to the needs of the systems being supported.
