About the Opportunity

Red Chris currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Maintenance General Foreman to join the Red Chris mine located 80 kilometers South of Dease Lake, in Tahltan traditional territory.

In this full-time role, you will report to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent and will be a key member of the site management team providing direction and oversight to build on our existing practices and facilitate growth within the company that brings together a workforce dedicated to safe sustainable mining.

Primary duties include: 

• Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, schedule, cost and security requirements
• Supporting the Superintendent with the plan and budget to ensure that adequate personnel, equipment, and materials are in place to meet the production objectives
• Guiding, coaching, and mentoring department personnel to oversee the training, supervising, evaluation and provide leadership for the department
• Working closely with all departments to coordinate activities; with specific focus on the Mine Operations and Site Services departments
• Developing and implementing best practices within the department and across departments
• Conducting regular (weekly) reviews to identify viable prospects for areas of improvement in maintenance processes
• Tracking and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including completing reports and performing record keeping as required

To qualify, you will have a post‐secondary education (College or University), a of an interprovincial Red Seal Certification of Competency in a field related to mobile equipment maintenance, combined with a minimum of 10 years of related experience in Mining and a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience. 

Above all, you will be a detail and results oriented professional with the ability to multi task, and adhere to deadlines. Due to the nature of this role, you must also be willing to work a flexible schedule. 

About the Benefits

As you will be living and working in a remote mining camp, transportation to and from the campsite will be provided from designated marshaling points around the province. All meals and accommodations are also provided to employees while in camp.
