About the Opportunity:   

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a  Mill Operator 4 to join the Brucejack Mine in Northwestern, British Columbia .

This position is located at Pretium Exploration Inc.’s “Pretivm” Brucejack Mine Site within the mill department and reports directly to the Mill Operations Supervisor or designate. 

The purpose of the position is to support mill operations to ensure safe, efficient and effective operation of the Unit Process assigned. Ensures that equipment within the unit process is maintained and operated at the highest standards to achieve the defined production targets and requirements.

The position also ensures compliance with all Pretium Resources Inc.’s “Pretivm” Health & Safety and other relevant policies and regulations.


  • Demonstrate safety leadership within a team environment and promote environmental awareness in all work or task related duties.
  • Effectively operate the Unit Process you are assigned to and achieve defined operating and production targets.
  • Perform required checks and record detailed operating information and notes in log sheets.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
  • Be able to conduct training and provide mentorship to trainees.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Work with and assist the maintenance team as required to ensure equipment is in optimal operating condition to avoid unnecessary downtime or delays.
  • Inform co-workers and supervisors of any recognized issues.
  • Prepare working area and adhere to all job safety requirements prior to starting work and keeping the work area safe and free of hazards.
  • Participate in site specific training.
  • Perform related duties, including operation of other circuits or processes as required.
  • Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating Mineral Processing circuits in an underground environment would be an asset.
  • Able to be trained in safe underground working methods and procedures.
  • Able to operate or be trained in the operation of underground personnel carriers, fork lifts, skid steer loader and other mobile equipment relevant to the position requirements.
  • Able to effectively trouble shoot and resolve Unit Process systems upset conditions to minimize production interruption.
  • Previous start-up and commissioning experience is an asset.
