Job Overview:

Our technology development cycles are fast-paced and adaptive, and therefore our test engineering team equally needs to be as fast-paced and adaptive. We are looking for a Test Engineering Lead that will help us grow and develop our test engineering function so that we can answer more questions – faster! This role works closely with and alongside the mechanical and technology design groups in developing exciting new technologies. We are in an exciting stage of technology development and business growth, and so this role provides ample opportunities to contribute to the team’s success.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership role in the growth and development of the Test Engineering Function & Test Facilities
  • Implement & develop agile test engineering practices suitable for a fast-paced technology development environment
  • Directly contribute to the development and troubleshooting of test articles and test systems
  • Coordinate & schedule test activities, including test rig design/build & test execution
  • Development and execution of a unified Control & Data Acquisition system that can be applied to current and future test systems
  • Mentor and coach junior test engineers in test engineering practices, test rig system design, and build & commissioning

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in a test engineering role, ideally in an electromechanical/mechatronics test environment
  • Previous experience leading and providing technical mentorship to a small test team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or similar technically focused discipline
  • Demonstratable experience in the use of Labview & Solidworks
  • Deep knowledge on selecting & using a variety of sensors such as pressure, temperature, flow sensors & torque meters
  • Experience with high-speed logging & data acquisition/data syncing
  • Able to solve integration issues associated with high voltage power systems & low voltage sensor systems
  • Willingness and ability to learn/understand new technologies and systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and enjoyment of hands-on work
  • Able to respond to and be flexible to changing business needs as well as having the ability to influence and respectfully challenge where appropriate
  • Good balance of conceptual and practical knowledge in an industrial, testing, or R&D environment
