Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is hiring a Materials Testing Technician for our Fort McMurray, Alberta office. Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include conducting various tests on asphalt pavements, concrete, aggregates and various soils in both laboratory and field environment. This position will require working occasionally out of town projects. In addition, the incumbent will:Maintain orderliness of laboratoryPreparation of inspection reports and data entryFollow Wood’s Project Review, Ethics and Safety PoliciesField Concrete testingField Compaction testingLab WorkSieve AnalysisProctorsCylinder BreakingCSA calibrationsMoisture ContentsHydrometersUnconfined compression testingEngineering Technology Program is preferredPreference given to those with previous experience in the construction industryFamiliar with test procedures for concrete, aggregate, soil and asphaltGood written and verbal English communication skillsReliable and punctualWilling to do a variety of tasks and able to prioritizeCSA Safety boots requiredAbility to work in the laboratory and office settingsLight to moderate lifting may be requiredAlberta Driver’s license and a good driving record (driving abstract required)Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
