Job Description

The Email Marketing Copywriter is responsible for the creation and development of highly effective email marketing copy, as well as other copy formats including but not limited to SEO/SEM copy, landing page copy, video scripts and website copy.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Global Brand Strategy and working under the guidance of the Senior Creative Lead, the Email Marketing Copywriter creates, monitors and updates copy for all projects assigned. 

Responsible for writing content in lead nurturing emails, as well as other marketing assets for existing and new program launches.


  • Work with the Associate Director, Global Brand Strategy and the Senior Creative Lead to develop highly effective email marketing copy and brand standards in terms of the use of language, and adhere to these standards in all marketing materials
  • Work on copy development for other marketing projects as assigned, including web development projects, advertising campaigns, landing pages and microsite campaigns
  • Receive creative briefs from Brand Managers, then develop copy content to meet marketing objectives, achieve institutional language / brand standards and push content to various media channels
  • Work with the Director, Marketing Strategy to ensure that all copy is optimized for specific keywords and with appropriate links to support our SEO strategy
  • Work collaboratively on shared projects within the marketing department


A. Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years writing/editing experience in Email Marketing
  • Experience in writing and developing marketing copy for social media, print, video scripting and website copy
  • Diploma and/or degree in marketing, communications or similar disciplines

B. Skills and Abilities

  • Outstanding email marketing writing skills, able to demonstrate a versatility in writing styles
  • A comprehensive understanding of email marketing, digital marketing, social media, traditional media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, and takes pride in meeting deadlines
  • Ability to take direction and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to take ownership on assigned projects and drive progress to meet deadlines
  • Strong maturity and ability to possess grace under pressure
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously
  • Results oriented – passionate about achieving outlined results
  • Collaborative
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Slack and Asana
