Our client builds and repairs multi-million-dollar yachts, vessels, and sailboats. The head office is in a 45,000 sq. ft. in Richmond, BC. Here a STRIVE Recruitment, we are seeking reliable individuals, skilled in cabinet making and woodworking (finished products). Due to a large project, we are hiring for at least 3 Marine Mechanics to work on the morning shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:15 pm.
You will initially be hired as a contractor (approx. 4 months), however, you can be a long-term employee! The project will be at least for 2 years. Our client is growing and experiencing high growth. There are over 90 employees at this location.
You will be reporting to the Mechanical lead and there are about 6 employees within this department.
•install and repair mechanical systems on vessels.
•Equipment installation. (Rigging, lifting, following blueprints)
•Remove and service raw water valves
•Strong knowledge of removing props, shafts and cutlass bearings
•Ability to operate all standard machinery and deck equipment
•Must be able to perform associated duties such as rigging, engine service, pump and piping
•Strong attention to detail
•Demonstrate safe work practices at all times
•Must be available to work overtime as required
•New build experience an asset
•propulsion, steering, hydraulic, fuel, piping systems and plumbing.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to new procedures
•Pressure testing of piping systems.
•2+ years in a mechanic role (preferably marine)
•2+ years of experience in operation, repair, and maintenance
•Hydraulic experience, tube bending and hose crimping.
Familiarity with ferrous and non-ferrous metallic piping systems. Stainless, CuNi, Tube and Pipe and their connections (Threaded, Flanged and Compression fittings)
•Equipment installation experience (Rigging, lifting, following blueprints)
•Basic fabricating experience is an asset
•Confined space training is considered an asset
•Marine Mechanical certification is considered an asset
•Marine engineering or equivalent experience including on board experience with shipyard periods is considered an asset
•$20-32 per hour (depending on experience)
