This position will report to the Machine Shop Foreman.
This position will be on our Night Shift as 4-10s (Mon-Thurs 5:30AM to 4:00PM) or Weekend Shift as 3-12s (Fri-Sun 5:30AM to 5:30PM).

Your primary responsibilities:
+ Studies specifications, charts, drawings or sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed
+ Reads and interprets blueprints, follows directions given, drawings and work orders
+ Calculates dimensions and tolerances, and prepare working sketches if necessary
+ Operates and uses various machine shop equipment and tools safely at all times, which includes some or all of the following: lathes, mills, boring mills, drills, saws and machining centers
+ Check parts for defects, maintains and repairs equipment as required
+ Safety conscious with full participation in the safety program and all safety requirements
+ Completion of high school
+ 3+ years related experience in the machining industry, working with manual boring mills and lathes is required
+ Working towards the Machinist Apprenticeship Program or Red Seal Machinist Certification would be an asset
+ Be proficient in the use of all tools common to the fabrication shop environment

+ Basic computer knowledge
+ Time management skills to productively complete work and meet all expected deadlines
+ Organizational skills to plan out and coordinate his or her work in a logical manner
+ Physically fit to lift items weighing up to 35 kg.
