Working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, the Manager of Women and Children’s will be accountable for: Women & Children’s Program Focused on pre-natal, intrapartum, post-partum, neonatal and pediatric services Six (6) labour, birthing, recovery and post-partum suites, six (6) pediatric inpatient beds and a four (4) isolette Special Care Nursery Outpatient support for a number of areas including non-stress testing, preadmission clinics for obstetrics and some ambulatory / consultation services The Manager utilizes clinical and leadership skills to ensure quality Women and Children’s patient care through the planning, operational management, coordination of human, physical and financial resources, application of core competencies and collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary clinical care team in a unionized environment. HOURS: The successful candidate will work Monday – Friday (37.5 hours weekly) with a willingness to adjust schedules to meet the needs of the Hospital. In addition, there will be a requirement to participate in the leadership on-call rotation. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BScN) Degree or an undergraduate degree in a related field required Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership experience Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in relevant clinical areas Must have birthing unit experience Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor, analyze and evaluate operational and capital budgets Experience in a LEAN environment with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in Healthcare preferred Demonstrated evidence-based decision making, critical thinking and problem solving Demonstrated leadership, team development, and facilitation skills coupled with superior interpersonal, relationship and communication skills Demonstrates STEGH values and the ability to promote values of shared leadership and inter-professional team collaboration Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of professionals; Ability to research leading practice and implement quality based programming and seek to exceed industry benchmarks and performance metrics; Ability to attend work on a regular basis We Value, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety Our Vision is to deliver an excellent patient care experience, in a safe and compassionate environment, in collaboration with our healthcare partners.We foster a culture of patient and staff safety where all positions comply and work in conjunction with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
