Government Communications and Public Engagement (GCPE) is a dynamic, progressive and innovative organization that supports government in its ongoing dialogue with British Columbians. GCPE leads and coordinates government communications and public engagement through its three divisions: Communications Operations, Strategic Communications Services, and Corporate Services Division. Under the Strategic Communications Division, Multilingual Services is an emerging field of communications specialty in GCPE. This team provides information about government programs and services in multiple languages, so that more citizens can communicate with government in their preferred language.
Reporting to theDirector of Joint Engagement Initiatives, the Manager, Multilingual Services, leads a team to provide critical information about COVID-19 in nine languages: French, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) Punjabi, Farsi, Tagalog, Spanish, Korean, and Arabic.As the Manager, you areaccountable for ensuring clear, timely and accurate information in multiple languages across government’s online service channels, including gov.bc.ca and government social media accounts.In the role of Manager, Multilingual Services, youwill work closely with internal and external partners and clients to set priorities, expectations and standards, provide quality assurance and version control, and ensure all delivery requirements are met.As the Manager, you will work to build and foster relationships with stakeholders and community leaders to raise awareness of multilingual information about COVID-19 and gather feedback.Additionally, in thisManager role, youwill be responsible for managingcontractors (invoices and quotes) and providing regular reporting on performance metrics.
