POSITION:Full Time Manager, Biomedical ServicesHOURS OF WORK:Monday to Friday days but flexibility and overtime will be required. On-call work will be required.JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Integrated Executive Director Digital Services, the Manager, Biomedical Services is accountable for the strategic planning and operational oversight of biomedical services, including but not limited to leadership for the planning, acquisition, execution and evaluation of the installation, maintenance and repair activities in accordance with best practices, hospital policies, regulatory and accreditation requirements. The Manager, Biomedical Services develops collaborative relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance biomedical services, best practices and innovations in terms of the integration of biomedical devices with the hospitals broader digital environment and broader health system. . The Manager is accountable for all human resource, fiscal management, internal and customer relations, vendor management and communications.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:• Strategic leadership• Is a thought leader; active participant in digital services portfolio planning and execution as well as broader organizational planning initiatives• Develops strategic partnerships to advance the practice of biomedical services • Monitors new medical technologies, trends, legislative requirements, regulatory and standards organizations to acquire additional expertise, gaining additional industry exposure for information sharing and knowledge acquisition• Enhances collaborative relationships to promote integrated best practices between biomedical and information technology • Leading operational excellence• Manages operational budget in consultation with Integrated Executive Director, Digital Services • Liaises with vendors and manufacturers; manages vendor service level agreements for medical equipment services for service, delivery, efficiency, and cost effectiveness • Demonstrates on-going commitment to quality improvement by ensuring compliance with product quality assurance, equipment and procedural standards, health and safety protocols, human factors engineering, as well as engineering specifications.• Coordinates risk management activities and proactively manages inherent and residual risks related to biomedical services with appropriate critical-thinking and escalation • Optimizes the equipment maintenance program • Provide consultative advice as a health care technology expert • Ensures team members provide a high level of service to stakeholders that yield excellent customer satisfaction • Coordinates and manages the planning and implementation of complex technical projects in medical devices in support of stakeholders as part of multidisciplinary teams• Talent management• Provides departmental human resource oversight and management in alignment with organizational policy and procedures and union requirements.QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum of Bachelors Degree in one of the following; Clinical Engineering, Technology, or 3 year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from a nationally accredited program.• Masters level preferred.• 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role within a Clinical Engineering environment.• Previous experience in Cerner BDMI technology preferred • Healthcare experience required.
