Facilities Maintenance and Operations provides hospital site-based stewardship of physical assets including structural, mechanical and electrical systems through programs of preventative, predictive and demand maintenance and long-term infrastructure renewal.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a relief full time Maintenance Worker at Royal Columbian Hosptial located in New Westminster, BC.

In this role you will showcase your skills to provide maintenance duties for a variety of areas related to buildings and grounds and equipment through electrical, plumbing, and painting activities.

Build on your education and career experience as you:

    •Identifies nature of malfunction of equipment and appliances such as wheelchairs, beds and carts; •Performs electrical and mechanical duties such as replacing extension cords, sockets and receptades. •Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and carts by cleaning, greasing, oiling and replacing broken and worn parts. •Performs plumbing and painting maintenance. •Assists journeyman by performing duties related to shop work as required. •Maintains working areas in a clean and safe condition.

Education and Experience:

    •Grade 10 plus one (1) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
