Maintenance Engineer will provide technical support to ensure reliable sustainable and cost effective production utilizing predictive methodologies and technologies to ensure asset reliability and capability to meet the operational objectives. Monitor and evaluate functionality of department assets and liabilities to identify operational and maintenance requirementsSupport the promotion of a safe work place and a health & safety program.Support Maintenance and Operations through priorities set by management.Provide engineering leadership for site based projects and modifications to existing equipment.Support the operation to develop Predicative, Proactive, and Condition Based maintenance programs to support operational capacity.Interaction with department maintenance and operations personnel to review and resolve equipment process issues.Troubleshoot repetitive maintenance failures to improve asset efficiency as assigned.Interact with personnel and assist in the field start-up of equipment, providing specialized technical knowledge and ability.Evaluate the adequacy of engineering designs by others to ensure it complies with department, corporate and operational process requirements.Monitor department machinery to ensure equipment functions as designed to result in maximum equipment reliability and operating efficiency. Assist the Maintenance Planners and Supervisors to plan repairs, modifications and improvements to equipment. Support the development of department capital budget by ascertaining current and future needs.Identify and communicate area maintenance priorities and support the effective execution of maintenance shutdowns.Provide detailed scope and design for all approved maintenance work.Support tradesmen by providing guidance and coaching when requested.Focus upon process improvements to enhance productivity, increase revenue, enhance safety and reduce cost, consistent with the strategic direction of the company.Interface effectively with purchasing and warehouse to identify equipment specifications and delivery requirements.Act as a change agent to instill an operational excellence, performance improvement culture throughout the organization.Develop equipment and component standards and performance requirements as required.Support the effective implementation and adherence to plant wide standard operating procedures and practices.Monitor department machinery to ensure equipment functions as designed to result in maximum equipment reliability and operating efficiency. Remain current with new technology and maintenance methods.Bachelor”s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred3-5 years of mining experience5-7 years of experience in mobile equipment and asset managementAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite requiredExperience using SAP maintenance module and PI Processbook requiredExperience running projects in a mining environment beneficialExperience in maintenance or reliability engineeringexperience in operations and/or maintenance is requiredExperience with developing and reviewing process methodology and toolsExperience in open pit mining preferred, Arctic experience beneficialStrategic thinking and understanding of critical issues related to mining
