Job Description

Our client, an award-winning Tier 1 & 2 automotive manufacturer in Woodstock, ON is currently seeking to add a Maintenance Coordinator to their team on a permanent full-time basis on straight days. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Coordinator leads all activity related to maintenance within the plant and is responsible to liaise with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise hourly maintenance team members
  • Track performance of all maintenance departments
  • Manage, schedule, and execute the preventative maintenance program within the plant
  • Maintenance of equipment and building facilities
  • Ensure the sequential product lines are fully supported to maintain zero impact to the customer in a breakdown situation
  • Provide necessary data to support final decision-making as repairs are needed on whether to contract for repair or fix in-house
  • Lead scheduling of Contractors for repair, and creating quotes for service parts
  • Responsible for ensuring quality products are being produced from equipment
  • Guide maintenance team in creating solid working relationships with production team members and quality assurance team
  • Support any necessary training activity, ensuring all training is up to date
  • Lead promotion/hiring/demotion/discipline activity for maintenance team
  • Manage time and attendance for all direct reports
  • Involvement with special projects; assist with silo activity, real-time data acquisition, and cycle-time reduction
  • Lead all activity in determining purchase of new machines, robots, and other necessary equipment/materials

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Millwright and/or Electrician certification or Engineering Diploma/Degree required
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience needed (injection molding background a bonus)
  • Leadership experience an asset
  • Ability to manage time efficiently; repairingmachines in a timely fashion to minimize downtime
  • Must be technically and mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot machine errors
  • Actively listening to leadership teams about problems and issues that may arise
  • Prioritization skills; ability to adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
  • Solid interpersonal skills; able to communicate issues to Process Technicians and to senior leadership teams
  • Ability to efficiently manage a team leading them towards a shared goal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
