What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Machine Operator to work the PM or Night Shift. You will perform basic machine maintenance, adjustments, and operate machinery.

Shift: PM Shift 3:30pm – 10:30pm/ Night Shift 11:30pm – 6:30am

Hourly Wage: PM shift $20.00 per hour / Night shift $21.00 per hour

Location: Etobicoke, Ontario.

What would you be doing?

• Perform pre-operational checks on all machinery and equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition
• Perform basic machine adjustments, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
• Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
• Ensure company equipment, material, and the worksite are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
• Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
• Organize, maintain an obstructive-free work area and safely operate all machinery/equipment
• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation
• Perform and report on daily safety and maintenance checks
• Work well independently as well as part of a team
• Start machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance
• Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions
• Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
• Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

What skills and qualifications do you need?

• WHMIS, Pallet Lift Truck, Forklift certifications are an asset
• Sound knowledge of HACCP and WHMIS
• Ability to multi-task
• Attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Effective time management and communication skills.
• This is a physically demanding position and requires the ability to lift 25kg
• High School Diploma or relevant designation is preferred
• 2 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry with machine operation
• 2+ years of related experience required

Work Environment

• The individual will work in the Warehouse/Production facility located in Etobicoke, ON
• Constant interaction with a variety of chemicals and chemical products
• Ability to lift varying weights of raw materials as required
• Must be able to use dollies, fork trucks, and manual pallet jacks
• Working with unpleasant odors and fumes
• Constant heavy lifting and high noise levels
• Flammable, combustible, toxic and corrosive chemicals may be present in the work area
• Constant change is to be expected in a high-pressured environment

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and push/pull 400lbs
• Using hands and arms together to move various items
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
