The primary function of the Department Manager (DM) Delivery is to manage the delivery process. This includes supervising and training associates, managing associate performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage through influencing scheduling of associates. This also includes scheduling delivery loads and routes, inspecting and verifying orders, and loading and unloading of merchandise efficiently and safely.. The DM Delivery is also responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping store areas clean and organized, securing doors and gates, and monitoring for potential theft or security risks. The DM Delivery is also required to provide superior customer service by assisting customers in locating, selecting, demonstrating, and loading merchandise in a friendly and professional manner. Lastly, the DM Delivery is responsible for completing all other duties as assigned. Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Required to work a schedule as determined by sales, customer, and business needs, but may be changed by store management based on the needs of the store.Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advanced notification and approval by supervisor.Hourly Full Time, Part Time or Seasonal: Generally scheduled 40, 24 to 30, or 0 to 40 hours per week respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store. This position reports to an Assistant Store Manager and leads hourly associates.### Job Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.AND2 years administrative and customer service experience in a fast-paced retail environment, including at least 1 year supervisory experience OR 1 year Lowe’s store experience.ANDExperience with computer and web-based systems (e.G., email, web based applications, delivery/scheduling systems, online ordering systems, training).Preferred 1 year experience working in a retail store OR customer service position.1 year supervisory experience including coaching/training and evaluating the performance of direct reports.3 months experience operating forklift/power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.Lifts up to 50 pounds without assistance many times a day and also lifts up to 100 pounds with or without assistance daily.The Department Manager Delivery may be required to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as in extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant/intermittent sounds (if applicable).Lowe-s Canada is an inclusive employer.
