We are currently looking for a Law Clerk for one of our clients. What is in it for you: Our client is in the TOP 100 Employers in Canada Salary of $17/h 3 months contract Day time hours Dynamic and professional environment What you will need to succeed: Post-secondary education, or Paralegal certification or diploma, or ILCO certification, or equivalent Two years experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred. Ability to be proactive and to work independently on multiple, competing and/or shifting priorities with minimal supervision. Focus on detail and accuracy, highly organized, possess excellent analytical skills, demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, Confident to work collaboratively with paralegals, lawyers, administrative assistants and clients on transactions, department projects and initiatives. Must possess a general working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe and redlining. A day in the life of a Law Clerk: Compile deal documents and other information and obtain signatures Complete private equity fund subscription documents and coordinate the provision of supporting know-your-client documentation with outside counsel and administrative agents Review commercial leases and complete lease abstracts and accompanying documents including SNDAs and TECs Support company real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and various investment funds involving the mortgage and real estate portfolio Assist in transaction management by tracking deadlines and outstanding matters Create, review and revise documents required to support various investment subsidiaries including but not limited to documents relating to incorporation and organization and other fundamental changes, coordinating initial extra-provincial licenses/registrations and managing subsequent renewals and updates; and overseeing annual maintenance and compliance work and general governance matters
