Position Summary:
IBI Group is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Landscape Designer to join our Edmonton Landscape Architectural team. The role includes a mixture of design and contract administration duties working on a variety of different projects. Working in a fast-paced and growth oriented environment, this position is ideally suited for individuals who like to take charge and are driven to build on current successes. Our professional staff is comprised of landscape architects, landscape designers, landscape architectural technologists, planners, engineers, and architects that form a multi-disciplinary approach to a variety of exciting & innovative projects.
In this role you will be involved in the conceptual design all the way through to the construction and construction administration of the projects. Having an understanding of Alberta environmental conditions and construction methods would be considered an asset.
– Prepare conceptual and preliminary design plans
– Prepare graphic presentation drawings and perspectives
– Prepare computer-assisted technical drawings
– Assist in compiling site analysis information
– Draft construction-drawing packages that include grading, planting, and layout details
– Estimate and monitor project costs
– Prepare contracts
– Monitor and Inspect construction and compile appropriate progress reports
– Help select plant materials, hard surface materials, site furnishings, play equipment and outdoor lighting
– Consult with clients and assist in making presentations
– Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
– Degree in Landscape Architecture
– 3 to 7 years of experience as a landscape designer
– Experience in urban design, sustainable design, and landscape/ site planning and design
– Ability to work in a team/ multidisciplinary environment
– Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD, Sketchup, MS Word, Powerpoint, MS Excel, Adobe Photo shop, Illustrator, In Design and other graphic programs)
– Specific experience in Civil 3D, MS Project and ProjectWise
– Excellent Oral, written and graphic communication skills
– Experience in Transit/Transportation Corridor and P3 Infrastructure projects is preferred
– Valid driverí¢€™s license and vehicle is preferred
– Contract management/ landscape construction field experience is preferred
– Associate Membership with the AALA preferred
– LEED accreditation is an asset
Salary Range – $58,000 – $63,000
Eligible for company bonus and annual salary increases
