**Your Opportunity**

In the role of the Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist, this individual will have the opportunity to contribute with a team on the design and delivery of land development projects for our clients. These rewarding projects will provide the individual an opportunity to learn and expand their engineering skills. The Stantec Alberta South Community Development group provides services to land developers in Calgary and southern Alberta. This individual will be responsible for managing the relationships with some of our most valued developer clients, providing exceptional customer service.

**Your Key Responsibilities**

+ Assist in the completion of designs for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, noise attenuation and erosion and sediment control.

+ Completes tasks on projects including preparing basic utility alignments and profiles, cut and fill calculations, calculating flow lines of wastewater and storm sewer systems.

+ Prepare drawings and figures as required using AutoCAD software to support the project team.

+ Participate in safety program, quality assurance and quality control review on own projects and projects of peers.

+ Communicate with team members and project stakeholders.

+ Contribute to project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders as required.

+ Assist with on-site observation and surveys for construction projects which includes interacting with contractors and City of Lethbridge staff

+ Document field observations, Review shop drawings, Complete Survey Layouts and Grade Sheets

+ 50% Field Work 50% Office Work

+ Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.

+ Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.

+ Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

+ Proficient in relevant software programs including AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Auto Turn and Bluebeam Revu. Experience in Autodesk Revit and Bentley PowerDraft considered an asset.

+ Lifting up to 50 lbs will be required on occasional basis or during field season.

**Education and Experience**

Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience.

Require full Class 5 drivers license (GDL not accepted) and a satisfactory driver’s record.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; however, this position will require field work depending on the season. Office environment involves working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
