Express entry clients are not being considered at this time. Position Overview: The Mechanic is responsible for all maintenance and general repairs required for trucks, trailers and other equipment. This position will work with minimal supervision, while performing daily maintenance in a fast-paced environment. Report to:Fleet Maintenance Manager Duties and responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a variety of fleet equipment with professionalism under minimal supervision. Perform annual safety inspections in compliance to the National Safety Code Standard 11B. Complete necessary repairs to trucks and trailers to minimize down time. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues Document all maintenance work performed and complete work orders, with accuracy, for billing purposes. Work well with others in a team environment with other technicians and apprentices. General housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe workspace. Maintain all mechanical equipment and tools as required. Responsible for suppling all common hand tools required for daily tasks as well as a personal storage unit Understand and follow all the employer’s safety procedures and policies. All other duties as assigned Requirements Education and/or Experience: Grade 12 or equivalent required Post-Secondary, Motive Power Technician Program considered an asset 310T Truck and Coach Technicians Certificate is a must Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent understanding of common hand tools Keen eye for how mechanical machines operates Fair understanding of trade practices Strong verbal and written communication while working as a team member Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Good knowledge of computer systems Licenses or Certifications: Valid G Drivers License AZ drivers license is an asset Physical Requirements: This job requires a combination of bending, kneeling, crawling and heavy lifting. This is a physically demanding position. Working Conditions: This position will be exposed to many different work environments. Dirt, dust, grease, noise and all-weather conditions will be present on a daily basis.
