More information can be found Canada has an opportunity for an Intermediate Estimator. You willWork in a team environment to prepare timely and accurate cost estimates of materials, labor and equipment for architectural and structural precast based on drawings and specificationsfor tendered and negotiated projects.Work directly with Sales, and closely with Engineering, Precast Manager, and Operations to understand project execution strategy and associated costs.Cooperate with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to develop accurate project budget and quotations. Actively monitor the construction association and other tendering authorities to seek bidding opportunities.Investigate client requests for quotations to determine project scope and requirements.Develop and maintain supplier and subcontractor relations. Evaluate and monitor costs post tendering process. Follow up and track bid results.Support project management process to develop costs or savings on changes to contracts.Strong commitment to Lafarge Safety standards.Post secondary diploma or at least 3 years’ experience in construction.Strong understanding of the estimating process and interaction with other disciplines within the company.General knowledge of the construction tendering process.Excellent organization and communication skills, and attention to detail.Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.Drafting experience, understanding of Isometric views, AutoCAD, etc. will be an asset.Knowledge of BIM, Revit, Sketch up, Tekla, or take off software as BlueBeam will be desirable. Knowledge of BidtoWin will be an asset. Proficiency with MS Office applications.Effective written and oral communication skills.Strong team player with a positive attitude, and a self starter.
