Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator

MPS Facility Services Canada ULC, a division of MPS Group, is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator stationed at FCA Brampton. This is an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of industrial wastewater treatment including preventative maintenance, by-law compliance and facility operation via SCADA. d.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Use analytical equipment such spectrophotometer, pH Meter, ISE, balance, oven to test raw and treated wastewater prior to and during discharge

o Operate chemical feed systems for treatment of wastewater

o Complete reporting requirements and operational record keeping

o Monitor offloading of bulk chemical deliveries

o Operate plate and frame filter press and track percent solids of cake

o Perform inspections of process and facility equipment and report findings

o Perform preventative maintenance on various pumps, valves, small equipment and tools

o Exhibit a co-operative and respectful approach to working with all team members, customers and contractors

REQUIREMENTS:

o Must exhibit a very strong work ethic with a focus on dependability, punctuality and a self-starter who is able to work either alone or in groups.

o Ideal candidate is a recent graduate of a technician or technologist program pertaining to water treatment, chemistry or environmental sciences

o Ability to work a rotating shift including weekends and nights with own, reliable transportation

o Ability to easily lift items weighing 50 pounds

o Past experience with power tools, small equipment or mechanical repairs an asset
