Boart Longyear is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager for Canada. As the Canadian HR Manager for our Drilling Services Division, you will manage a small Human Resource team, provide leadership for Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Performance Development, Organizational Effectiveness, and Culture. Serve as the key HR contact for Drilling Services Canada and partner with other Division Management to drive company objectives.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
+ Minimum of 10+ years related HR experience
+ Minimum of 5+ years of management experience
+ Related HR experience working within field operations, construction (highly mobile and transient workforce).
+ Strong working knowledge of Canadian labor law
+ Strong analytical and project management skills
+ Strategic Planning and partnerships
+ Pension, Benefit and Disability management knowledge
+ Excellent communication skills — written and verbal (both French and English would be considered an asset)
+ Proficiency with MS Office tools
+ Requires approximately 25% travel including cross border travel to US.
+ Oversee the staffing requirements of the business. Develop strategy to source, hire and train key talent.
+ Plan human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers
+ Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs
+ Build and maintain operational metrics for headcount, attrition, labor costs, overtime analysis, and other projects, as required
+ Manage and coordinate annual evaluation and wage increase process.
+ Manage and coordinate annual PDM (Performance) and OCR (Succession Planning) processes
+ Develop and lead proactive initiatives for recruiting employee motivation, positive work environment, and retention.
+ Manage and conduct internal investigations/conflict resolution
+ Partner with management regarding all matters of compliance and disciplinary actions
+ Oversee, interpret, and administer company policies and workplace procedures
+ Coaching and Mentoring
+ Other duties as required
