Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the Human Resources Advisor or Senior Human Resource Advisor is responsible for providing a broad range of Human Resource (HR) services to all departments on site. This position involves front-line generalist Human Resource activities.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, who has strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands.

Responsibilities :

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Influence and contribute towards policy development and implementation, employee communication strategies and employee development programs
• Provide coaching and resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, compensation, recruiting, performance management and employee relations, and adherence to the collective agreement
• Lead benefits communication including new hire orientation materials, ongoing employee communications, exit materials, and annual enrolment communications
• Apply labour relations knowledge to solve issues in a unionized work environment, including bargaining and arbitration
• Investigate employee relations issues including employee matters and performance issues while maintaining confidentiality, consistency, and sensitivity
• Coordinate and participate in the disability management process

Qualifications :

• University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or an equivalent field
• Minimum five years of broad Human Resources generalist experience
• Strong technical background including a detailed understanding of provincial legislation and human rights requirements
• Strong digital literacy, especially with the Microsoft Office Suite®
• Ability to professionally manage confidential material is vital
