Under the supervision of VP Operations, the HSE Directoracts as an agent of change in the development of OHS culture by acting as a leader, ambassador and coach to the management, supervisors, health and safety coordinator as well as employees. Job Responsibilities: Sit on the executive committee; Take responsibility for implementing and maintaining a culture of health and safety in the business. Educate employees about good health and safety practices and ensure compliance with the collective agreement and company regulations. Represent the company during audits and follow up on the intervention reports and the implementation of corrective measures required. Conduct internal audits in OHS and environment. Active participation in incidents involving OHS. Supervise the health, safety and environment coordinator; Have a three-year vision of health, safety and the environment, and then apply it; Implement priority projects and ensure follow-ups related to the health and safety committee, continuous improvement, corporate, etc .; Implement and maintain the company’s health and safety program, procedures and activities in compliance with current regulations and industry standards Provide specific advice on different policiesin the business (safe task analysis,lockout,confinedspaces, work at height, hot work, ergonomics, etc.); Evaluate specific training needs for the company and coordinate activities with the Human Resources Department; Maintain emergency plans and coordinate evacuations; Support and guide the health and safety committee; Requirements Bachelorof Engineering (Chemical, Biotechnological, Mechanical) – Options: Chemistry, Environment, Biochemistry, or Biology Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience Member of the Ordre des ingnieurs du Qubec an asset Competence in Time Management and Priorities Show leadership Have a great sense of organization Demonstrate autonomy and rigor Logical sense, ability to understand production in order to make informed decisions Mastery of the Ms Office suite for report If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply with an updated resume in MS Word Format.
