Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking an experienced Heavy Rental Manager (Eastern Canada) who will be
responsible for the overall supervision of the Heavy Rental Operation inclusive of capital acquisition, annual budgeting, staffing, marketing, setting commercial terms and rates, and authorizing necessary repairs and fleet disposition pricing across Eastern Canada as well as proactively monitor the rental readiness of all Heavy Rents assets. The Heavy Rental Manager is also responsible for all operational reporting and will influence the development of ERP requirements to allow for the management of this key Company asset (+$180M) and lead Heavy Rental discussions with Caterpillar to maximize support and applicable reporting.
Key Accountabilities
Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromonts Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
Manage Heavy Rents across Eastern Canada including a Montreal based Rental Manager and team
Provide direct supervision of daily Heavy Rental Operations based in Concord (on-going coaching of Rental Specialists and Maintenance Manager
Promote Heavy Rental business directly and alongside Machine Sales Reps in each of the territories as required
Manage rental business metrics including fleet repair and maintenance, time and financial utilization, ROA and turn around time
Set branch rental targets and drive continuous focus and awareness of rental results through sales force
Develop and own rental business and marketing plans
Maintain to optimum conditions and maximize the availability of all Heavy Rents attachments, work tools and tire inventory
Assemble machine rollout packages and work with Used Equipment to maintain the Cat Used website for rental equipment and work with shops and suppliers to ensure a Premium product for sale available at time of disposal
Liaise with CAT Rental and Used teams to maximize price and operational support efforts
Build and maintain working relationships within the shop and field operations as well as the suppliers supporting Toromonts rental goals
Maintain required training of the Caterpillar product line and Toromont Company policies and procedures pertaining to fleet practices and equipment
Key Qualifications
Post-Secondary Education with a technical and/or business focus; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Highly safety conscious and customer centric with a mindset for continuous improvement and solid business acumen
Influential with the ability to lead and manage a team with a view to effectively manage operations and create an engaging, high performing environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across divisions to ensure strategic perspective and a mutual team focus
Solid understanding of Caterpillar and Toromont operating policies and procedures
Analytical and organizational skills with a sense of urgency
Ability to mine and analyze data to support decision making
Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel
Self-motivated and adaptable to changing and multiple priorities to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast paced environment
Technical aptitude with CAT Products would be an asset
Willing and able to travel and a valid Drivers Licence and clean Drivers Abstract
Previous rental experience would be an asset
