About us:

Soccer Shots of Markham / Richmond Hill is one of the newest Canadian members of the Soccer Shots family.  Soccer Shots is consistently ranked one of the top Children’s Fitness franchise in the US, and a top ranked franchise on the Forbes list of best franchises in its category.  Why? We want our Soccer Shots sessions to be the BEST 30-40 minutes of each child’s week.

We offer sessions 7 days a week for children ages 2-8 throughout Markham and Richmond Hill. Sessions run seasonally (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring) and take place at various indoor and outdoor locations. Session start times vary depending upon location and season but typically fall within the following timeframes and repeat each week: morning (8:30 am – 12 pm) or afternoon (2:30 pm – 8:00 pm). 

We place an emphasis on character development, skill building, and engaging fun and provide our instructors with developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with Ontario’s early childhood education standards.

 
Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach who will take on an increasing level of responsibility as the business grows.   Initially, you will be trained in the ‘Soccer Shots’ way, attending paid virtual training conducted by Soccer Shots’ head office.  Once trained, you will be the primary coach for Soccer Shots of Markham / Richmond Hill.  You will become responsible for training, supervising, and mentoring new and current Instructors and ensuring they are meeting and exceeding expectations.  

This position is initially part-time and has the potential to become a full-time career with further room for advancement to Coach Manager and Director of Coaching, for a motivated and dedicated candidate.     

 
We are looking for a Head Coach who meets and exceeds the following criteria:

• Leadership: Your skills as a leader and people engager will be needed for training and motivating other instructors in the Soccer Shots way.
• Responsible: Timely, attentive, safety conscious, consistently meets/exceeds administrative deadlines and committed to fulfilling assigned schedule.
• Engaging: Comfortable and confident, the ability to keep a group 10 or more children safely engaged, entertained and excited to learn about the beautiful game of soccer.
• Enthusiastic & Fun: Outgoing, animated, willing to sing songs, be silly/goofy and the ability to connect with young children (2 – 8 years old). 
• Patient/Adaptable: Recognizes that not every game will go as planned, distractions will occur (airplanes are so cool) and patience is an ally. 
• Professional: Neat in appearance, friendly and courteous in all communication with childcare staff, parents and administrators. 
• Team Player: Collaborative, dependable, excellent communicator and commitment to elevating those around you.
• Coaching Enthusiast: Soccer experience is preferred, however, if you are great working with children, have some familiarity playing the game, and love having a positive impact on children’s lives – this can work.  
• Prior Experience Working with Children: Must be able to engage and interact with 2-8-year old’s and have experience doing so. 
• Prior Supervisory and ‘Train the Trainer’ Experience is an asset, but not required.   
• Reliable Transportation: Must have use of a safe and reliable car. You are responsible for driving yourself to your sites. 
• Background check cleared: Must have a current (or ability to pass) an Ontario Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
• CPR/ First Aid Certified: Certified in CPR/ First Aid or willing to get certified.
