Arbor Memorial Inc., through its subsidiaries, is a significant player in the cemetery and funeral business from coast to coast with over 140 locations across Canada.

Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, located in Nanaimo, BC is currently recruiting a Part-Time Groundsperson for a 12 month contract.

The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner. 

This position is based on a 24 to 40 hour work week, and may change as required for the needs of the business, including working of overtime when required.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • All aspects of cemetery care including interments, customer service, memorial and monument installations, equipment maintenance and grounds maintenance. 

    • The successful candidate must have:

  • A Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • The ability to lift 50lbs.
  • A team player, with a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask and set priorities.
  • Previous experience in landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery environment and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors is an asset.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion integrity, trust, teamwork and excellence.
  • Horticulture tickets and machine operation would be an asset.
