We are looking for people ready to share, build, and grow with our company.Reporting to the Ferrous Project Geologists, assist with the execution of Baffinland’s Ferrous exploration program. Under the supervision of the Ferrous Exploration Manager and Ferrous Project Geologists, in collaboration with other Geologists, execute the Ferrous exploration programs in such a manner that ensures the operational and health and safety goals are successfully attained.The position is site based with 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation and will be on a fixed term contract from May 2021 – October 2021.Follow and adhere to Baffinland’s Environment, Health and Safety Policies and Standards at all times.Geotechnical and lithological logging, geochemical sample preparation, database entryPerforming downhole surveysDetailed core loggingAssist with core storage and retrievalAssist with the preparation of reports, maps & sectionsAssist with drill site environment, health and safety checks to ensure compliance by drill contractorsConducting prospecting traverses, collection and processing surface samplesGeneral camp duties that may occur in the course of supporting Exploration programsAbility to lift and carry ~30 kg of boxed core.Bachelors Degree Earth Science or Geology.3-5 field seasons and or drill campaigns.Core logging experience required.Registered as a GIT or have the ability to do so in Nunavut.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of industry standard database and GIS software.Hold or be able to obtain a valid Standard First Aid / CPR certificate.Hold or be able to obtain a site drivers license.
