Role and Responsibilities
This newly created role is reflective of the recent, current and planned growth of Westmill. This is an opportunity for the right individual with both operations and project management experience together with a solid mechanical aptitude, and proven success in leadership and business roles to deliver value to the Company while also progressing their own professional development.
The strongest suit of your resume details a career progression delivering solid business operations roles in an ‘engineer-to-order’ manufacturing environment. You have a working familiarity with equipment design principals together with the management of designers, technicians, and Engineers. You also have previous knowledge of the processes and disciplines relating to product development and sales. On the outside contract manufacturing side, you have experience dealing with both international & domestic vendors in areas of pre-qualification, selection, and ongoing quality control and monitoring.
You are comfortable and confident with establishing meaningful KPI’s for all areas of the business and have a thorough understanding of finance, admin., human resources, marketing and sales, new product development, supply chain management, together with a thorough understanding on how each impacts the firm’s financial statements. You have an excellent understanding of corporate processes and associated information systems.
You have demonstrated an exemplary ability to develop and maintain amiable, trusted and respectful relations with business ownership, colleagues, customers, and suppliers. You are a comfortable and influential speaker and you always demonstrate excellence in written communications.
You have gained valuable exposure and developed a strong toolbox in the areas of talent attraction, recruiting and coaching as well as business strategy development and implementation.
Working knowledge in Project Management would be beneficial with training or certification at a PMP-level or above a bonus. Previous experience working with or acting in a General Contractor capacity managing sub-contractors at project sites also an advantage.
DIRECT REPORTS (6): Technical Sales Manager, Lead Engineer, Projects & Operations Manager, Accounting & Office Manager, Division Sales Manager for a distributed product line, and Logistics & Inventory Coordinator.
REPORTS TO: President/Owner, with additional support & guidance provided by the Westmill Advisory Board
· A Business Degree or equivalent experience required
· An Engineering/Technologist Degree, Certification or similar an asset.
It is expected that you will have completed a variety of management and business systems courses/programs and willingly invest in ongoing personal and professional development.
