It’s more than you would expect from a typical pub, and so we are seeking more than just your typical people.The Publican – The Face of the PubThink of it as hosting a party at the pub every day. The Publican should be present during busy times to support their team on the floor and host the party with Guests: touching tables, socializing and helping out where necessary. Publican should be active and constantly evolving within their community, local restaurant marketing and creating long-term goals for the pub. The ideal Publican shows respect for their team, their guests and the brand identity. As the face of the pub, the Publican consistently communicates, gives positive and constructive feedback to their team and is willing to accept responsibility for the overall success of the business.As a Publican, passion and enthusiasm for interacting with guests and engaging with staff to create a fun atmosphere are a must!ResponsibilitiesPub financials and recommendations of action towards profit management, achievement of budgets, sales building and schedulingEnsure completion of accurate and timely periodic financial statements for restaurant with the corporate accountantOversee hiring and the ongoing development of the Management team (ongoing feedback, coaching and Performance Reviews)Assist in recruitment for hiring new staff and final interviewsEncourage and perpetuate the pub culture through effective leadershipOversee the execution of front line training and marketing programsOversee the strict application of pub principles and standards to improve guest experienceEnsure pub adheres to all legislative and government guidelines (i.e. proper safe food and beverage service, AGCO, Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards, etc.)Job RequirementsMinimum 3-5 years management experience working in a high-volume dining restaurant; previous management experience in a pub environment is a definite asset!Post-Secondary education, preferably in hospitality and/or business related fieldStrong business acumen, including an understanding of budgets and operating costsExtensive knowledge of pub operations, food and beverageAbility and commitment to deliver an authentic Irish Pub experienceDemonstrate ability to motivate and direct othersUnderstanding pub culture and the ability to transfer this into behavior for all employeesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlinesUnderstands the pub guest across all day and night partsPERKS!
