OUR CLIENT, A MANUFACTURER OF RESIDENTIAL FURNITURE SEEKS TO ENGAGE A FURNITURE SHOWROOM COORDINATOR WHO WILL EXECUTE FLOOR PLANS AND FURNITURE DISPLAYS. THIS INDIVIDUAL WILL ALSO EXECUTE SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATION TO CREATE THE EXCITEMENT AND THE BUZZ AROUND ITS BRAND SOLD THROUGH DISTRIBUTORS AND RETAILERS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA.

If you are applying for this position, please ensure that you have recent showroom design / merchandising experience in the furniture and/or home furnishings industries in Canada or North America.

Your experience can be with a home furniture manufacturer or a furniture retailer. You know how to use social media, the web and internet, and marketing collateral to promote brand presence and create interest among North American Head Office furniture buyers for retailers, distributors and dealers as well as within the consuming public. You have been hands on using social media to create a buzz among consumers for the brand and you have a strong sense of visual merchandising in terms of being able to create furniture displays / vignettes in the showroom.

This position reports directly to the CEO who will provide training and guidance. The position is, therefore, most suitable for someone who can bring energy, enthusiasm and knowledge to the role but someone who is also comfortable in a developmental role.

We are looking for a flexible and accommodating personality. Ideally candidates will have 3, 4 or 5 years of direct experience in the Furniture or Home Furnishings Manufacturing industries. However, anyone with more or less experience in this industry is encouraged to apply.

LOCATION:

North Toronto. It is preferable if you live within a commute that is not more than 30 to 40 minutes from Highway 7 in the west end of Vaughan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Showroom (70 percent of your effort):

Bring your knowledge of industry trends, fashion, fabric, color and best practices to the showroom.

Work with the firm’s furniture designers and sales people to present the best view of the firm’s line up of exciting product designs in the showroom. The showroom is the fulcrum of the business.

Produce floor plans and showroom furniture displays / vignettes.

Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately.

Marketing Activity (30 percent of your effort)

Plan new product launches.

Execute new product launches.

Employ social media in achieving marketing goals and objectives – create the brand buzz.

Gather, analyze and present brand, competitor insights, trends, and data.

Work with the sales team on the delivery of effective marketing programs that achieve company and client objectives.

Support the development and execution of sales and marketing materials (marketing collateral), adapting scope, timelines, and deliverables as needed for maximum benefit.

Contribute to other lead generation and customer-acquisition activities, such as sales enablement, media promotion, networking, trade shows, social media and events.

Monitor stock movement and manage markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs, etc.

Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight, and assess against goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience setting up and executing changes in a furniture showroom is a key requirement– having done floor plans and furniture displays / vignettes.

Ensuring that the showroom reflects the latest furniture fashion trends.

Merchandising and marketing experience must have been obtained in the furniture or home furnishings industry (manufacturing or retail) in Canada or North America.

Expertise in the use of social media, the web and Internet to create a brand buzz.

Experience using the internet to research the latest fashion and furniture trends – color and fabrics.

Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices in the Furniture and Home Furnishings industries.

Hands on experience developing furniture campaigns and promotions.

Strong presentation skills including the use of suitable presentation software (PowerPoint).

Excellent English language verbal and written skills.

Must be very creative (planning and execution).

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field.

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience and very competitive. Range may be in the 55K to 65K range.
