Job Summary
: To handle, move, load and unload materials for assigned work cells/ area by using material handling equipment.
Required Education and Experience:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Possess valid forklift driving licence with good forklift driving practices and records
Assertive and confident in driving an electric Forklift with controlled speed
Ability to stack metal bins with 4 legs
Minimum of 1 year experience of metal bins stacking with 4 legs. To be very precise that the legs on 4 sides are able to get into the 4 cornered holes on the bottom bin, etc.
Good eye sight and safety oriented
Basic English skills (oral and written)
Excellent attendance
Flexibility to work overtime as required
Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision
Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player
Must be willing to work other shifts or perform other duties/tasks that are of reasonable request by supervisor/ manager
Support Quality System and Environmental Management System Requirements
Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
Essential Functions:
Ensure empty containers are available for the work cells assigned
Ensure proper raw materials and in process materials are available for the work cells
Ensure that correct bar code labels are apply to containers before delivering them to the work cells
Once the containers are full at the work cells, remove them and deliver to the correct assigned storage location
Follow all bin stacking and transport requirements as per instructions for both inside and outside of the plant
Ensure all items for waste disposal are placed in corresponding disposal bins, ie, cardboard in cardboard container, steel in steel container, etc
Ensure daily forklift safety inspection is completed for each shift, completed checklist to be provided to the appropriate personnel for follow up on a weekly basis
Maintain and organize work area for smooth and efficient operation and comply with all safety requirements
Follow company policies on Health, Safety and Environmental and PPE requirements
Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspect of the job
Working Environment:
100% plant floor (PPE required)

Require communication with employees, peers and management
Lifting and pushing as needed

Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies and procedures
Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes or forklifts.
All employees must follow all LOTO procedures
Comply with all environmental requirements including our recycling program.
