Oversee and assist in the preparation and cooking of large quantities of food in an efficient manner.This position pays $14.60-14.80 per hour.Assist with ensuring the smooth operation of assigned restaurant unitOversee and assist in the preparation (chopping/grating etc.) of large quantities of food in an efficient mannerEnsure all menu items are prepared as per recipeGreet guests in a friendly manner and address any questions and concerns regarding the location/parkAssist with training of production teamReceive/store/prepare/hold and serve food in compliance with the Ontario Health regulations and department specificationsFollow proper cleaning and sanitation practices for food and non-food contact surfaces and equipmentInventory of all products prepared and stored in fridges and freezersSafe and efficient use of industrial food preparation equipmentAssist in ordering and food cost controlAssist in other areas of the kitchen, front-line service and other locations as requiredAny additional duties as assignedMust be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for this positionCurrently enrolled in a post-secondary Culinary program or related course or possess relevant past work experiencePast experience in a high volume, fast paced restaurant kitchen environment is an assetPrevious leadership experience is an assetCurrent Food Safety Handler certificationAble to follow metric and imperial recipes with sound knowledge of a variety of kitchen equipmentAvailable to work part-time shifts in April and full-time shifts starting in May through Labour Day, and on weekends until the end of DcemberEnthusiastic with good communication skillsAble to perform heavy lifting up to 30 lbs.Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, late nights, on weekends and holidaysReliable source of transportation, outside of public transitAble to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (may include; gloves, mask and/or face shield, non-slip shoes etc)
