Matrix Labour Leasing is looking for aFleet / Shop Manager, in Terrace, BC-ASAP!!!!! This is a Full Time Position!! LONG TERM We are seeking a Fleet / Shop Manager to manage the organizations large fleet and lead a team of technicians at the companys main office. In this role, you will be managing the overall operations of the fleet, assuring the logistics of deliveries and repairs are top notch. This includes managing the shop technicians, scheduling, and negotiating with vendors. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience as a Fleet / Shop Manager in a multi-type vehicle environment. You must have experience working with budgets and have strong negotiation skills. This role works with varying departments; therefore, strong communication skills are a must. Fleet Shop Manager Job Duties Include: In relation to shop employees, is responsible for training and employee development; planning and directing the work; disciplining; handling employee complaints or grievances; and handling performance reviews. Schedules and administers fleet maintenance, assists in troubleshooting problems with equipment. Ensures compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal and Company requirements. Ensures a safe environment exists and that all maintenance and related activities are in conformance with company policies and regulatoryrequirements. Works closely with location manager and region maintenance management providing status of maintenance and budget requirements. May review financial and budgetvariances, review repair orders or code and approve account payable documents. Ensure that maintenance technicians are trained on current operating procedures, are properly equipped, and motivated so that themaintenance program can beaccomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Completes special projects as assigned. Required to perform hands-on work activities. Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements: Professional mechanic’s certificate Valid drivers license Previous supervisory experience in a vehicle maintenance & repair shop Automotive or diesel repair experience; large experience is helpful Inventory, parts ordering and maintenance system experience Organizational & team-building skills Knowledge of ASE programs LOCAL CANDIDATE PREFERRED
