We are currently looking for a Financial Modelling Analyst for one of our clients in the insurance industry. What is in it for you: Our client is in the TOP 100 Employers in Canada Salary of 30$/h 6 months contract Day time hours Dynamic and professional environment What you will need to succeed: Experience in financial modelling and application development with quantitative educational background (advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, etc.) Strong background in quantitative modelling of interest rates, inflation, foreign exchange rates, equities, and commodities for derivative pricing and risk computation Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills Strong programming experience in Matlab, VBA, Python or C++ Risk Management experience is also a plus Good communication and documentation skills A day in the life of a Financial Modelling Analyst: Provide quantitative support to business units (Models & Analytics, Credit Risk Management, Group Risk, and Group Finance Actuarial). Assess potential model risks as they relate to embedded assumptions and target applications. Develop benchmark models to validate core analytics of submitted models through implementation checks and model use assessment. Identify model limitations/risks and assess associated risk controls and processes. Stipulate permitted model usage with associated rationale. Communicate effectively in the form of Model Validation reports, memos and presentations to risk management and businesses regarding the validity and potential risks associated with models/methodologies under review. Ensure that proper and adequate model documentation (using model inventory template) and model risk mitigation processes are in place in order to appropriately assess and mitigate model risk. Ensure model inventory management processes to be properly followed.
