External Production Operations Supervisor


The primary responsibilities of this role, External Production Operations Supervisor are to:

Drive continuous improvement processes between Bayer’s Strategic Production Partners (SPP) and Bayer’s plant & field operations, planning, and quality teams. Key focus areas will include process and purchase order management, logistics coordination, financial reconciliation processes, SAP material master integrity, quality data transfer and overall performance of Bayer’s strategic production partner network.

Key tasks:

+ Management of multiple contract performance items to key manufacturing activities

+ Development and performance of routine data and inventory volume reconciliation of SPP materials to provide results to leadership with detailed explanation of discrepancies and corrective actions to prevent future impact

+ Assist with SPP capacity strategy by understanding and tracking capabilities for growing, drying, packing and treating for each individual partner

+ Collaborate with Bayer site operations, planning, and quality teams to ensure that SPP’s have accurate and reliable packaging schedules and supply availability

+ Partner with SPP’s and Quality to ensure robust testing plans and capabilities to drive quality decisions

+ Generate reports and presentations related to SPP metrics regarding conditioning activities, inventory availability, and quality trends for the SPP network

+ Lead and/or participate in weekly calls and meetings with operational working team to drive processes, process improvement, and process training

+ Maintain all documentation for manufacturing and shipping activities of SPP materials to ensure effective stewardship practices

+ Verification and auditing of SPP compliance to agreed financial terms

+ Provide SAP business support to SPP manufacturing locations

+ Collaborate with Planning and Finance team to accurately forecast and track results including key measures such as volume, yield, discretionary and non-discretionary costs, obsolescence, and other non-standard cost

+ Coordinate and manage procedures related to labeling and packaging including all applicable QMS procedures

+ Coordinate seed discards in a timely manner

+ Lead and drive activities for importing and exporting seed into Canada


Your success will be driven by your demonstrations of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possess the following:

+ Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years’ experience in a related business function; or at least 5 years’ experience in related business function with no degree.

+ Proven skills in decision making, to manage dynamic business needs and complex optimization activities

+ Data analytical skills and ability to derive insights from large data sets using Excel (SAP is an asset)

+ Cross-functional skill to drive change and get stakeholder buy-in
