General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada has an excellent full time opportunity for an experienced Engineer in Ottawa, ON for the Halifax-Class Combat System (HCCS) In Service Support (ISS) program in our Air & Naval division. You will work closely with our customer and with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to play a key role in ensuring that the Halifax-Class Combat System Equipment Group (EG) meets operational availability goals, and remains operationally relevant through the end of the Halifax-Class service life. You will join the team that is responsible for repair & overhaul, maintenance, spares procurement, obsolescence management and feature improvements.Your role in more detail:Work closely with DND/RCN and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to provide a comprehensive ISS program.Work with DND/RCN and original equipment manufacturers to develop plans and procedures for the execution of HCCS ISS.Provide support to DND/RCN for the planning, scheduling and execution of (HCCS) docking work periods (DWPs) including repairs, overhauls, and maintenanceWork closely with OEMs to provide a best value ISS program for DND/RCN including obsolescence management, upgrade planning, failure monitoring and analysis, and spares inventory management.Support the development of Engineering Changes for the HCCS EGAssist in performance management, monitoring and reporting metrics.Monitor repairs and take action to ensure that repair turnaround times are within the time-frames specified in subcontracts or internal service level agreements.Manage databases, research and analyze data, perform technical assessments, recommend improvements, and produce reports and metrics as requested by the customer or program manager.Assist in the planning and development of annual budgets for Annual Operating Plans including spares and repairs and obsolescence events.Create and implement asset management strategies, processes, procedures and models. Develop a company standard approach for data collection, analysis, corrective action and reporting.Establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.The successful candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years of experience in a In-Service Support (ISS) role. You should have experience working with manufacturers of defense and aerospace equipment and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
