Job ID:19907Updated:March1, 2020Location:Foothills CampusPosition DescriptionThe Departments of Surgery and Oncology, Alberta Health Services-Calgary Zone and University of Calgary in partnership with The Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute invite applications for a Contingent Term academic position at the Assistant Professor level. The successful applicant will have their primary appointment in the Department of Surgery with a joint appointment in the Department of Oncology.Qualifications include an MD or equivalent, have an active, or eligible to obtain, a Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in General Surgery with clinical fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery, or Surgical Oncology with a focus on Endocrine Surgery, and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.Candidates must be able to demonstrate academic excellence in clinical research, quality improvement, or education.  They must have a proven track record of excellence in research as demonstrated by publications (at least five) in high impact peer-reviewed journals, presentations at academic meetings and the ability to demonstrate successful competition for peer-reviewed funding at the national level. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will become a member of The Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute in the Cumming School of Medicine.
