Fountain Tire is recruiting for a Manager for their Distribution Center in Delta. As a member of the Supply team, the DC Manager’s purpose is to plan, direct and coordinate transportation, storage and distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and standard operating procedures, with a goal of operating efficiently and effectively while meeting all service promises to the customer.Responsibilities and qualifications are:Responsibilities:Manage the operation of the distribution center by ensuring resources are in place and processes are being executed effectively to:Ship product accurately and on time based on commitments made to customers;Receive product accurately and on time so the product is available for order fulfillment as soon as possible;Control inventory accurately to minimize any inventory value variances/discrepancies;Respond to any shipping discrepancies in a timely manner based on service level commitments; andProvide solutions based on customer service reportsInventory ControlManage inventory levels for accuracy from a physical vs system perspective;Ensure efficient storage of the physical inventory at the warehouse;Complete quarterly inventory of the entire warehouseProvide stocking recommendations, based on local market knowledge, to the Inventory Management teamManage all processes related to the transportation and on-time delivery of goods to customers with a goal to minimize expenses. Ensuring business processes for contracted freight companies are adhered to, and are designed to meet the requirements of the warehouse and its customers.Run applicable reports from the operational checklist, and other monthly reporting as required.Resolve escalated distribution center issues with the customer.Review, approve and complete payroll dailyManage all processes related to employees, including creating a metrics system, and maintaining positive employee relations.Responsible for growing and developing a progressive team through industry and career focused Learning and Development, ongoing performance feedback and open communication. This includes both the regional customer service team and the warehouse team.Participate through cost analysis and projections in the annual budgeting process.Ensure the Program of Safety Excellence is implemented, adhered to and kept current according to the program and legislated requirements.Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned.Design, develop and implement effective distribution and customer service strategies through aligned process improvement initiatives that support the organization’s Balanced Scorecard and financial plans.Use the operational metrics and work with the Operations Manager to build improvements with measurable and reportable results. Ensure warehouse associates understand how their key responsibilities impact these metrics and that they continually work towards achieving metric goals.Ensure end to end distribution center processes are completed and adhered to by associates. This includes adherence to inbound and outbound processes as well as standardized operational procedures for the current system.Run designated weekly and /or monthly reports; analyze, interpret and work through each process concisely.Communicate in a timely manner the KPI results to the Distribution Center Operations Manager; ensuring they are clear, empowering to the user and promoting action via linked compensation.Develop and maintain an optimal distribution network focused on flexible, scalable and sustainable processes to deliver the most Effective, Efficient and Reliable service to our customers.Proactively identify process improvement initiatives for consideration focused on best practice, improving business processes, reducing complexity and standardization.Continually improve warehouse efficiency, and structure.Minimum Qualifications:Completion of a High School diploma and 5 years customer service experience5 years working in the warehouse/distribution center industry in a leadership role.A combination of education and experience may be considered.Supply Chain Management courses and certificates are considered a strong asset.Thorough knowledge of distribution, transportation, and customer service operational procedures.Proven ability to lead and work within a team environment; this includes performance management, coaching and team building skills.Exceptional communication, negotiation, organizational and time management skills to prioritize competing demands.Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; this includes excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.Demonstrated ability to motivate a team to achieve operational performance measurement targets.Proven ability to attract, develop and retain an engaged team.
