ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client, a large public company located in Montreal, is looking for a Director, Accounting for a replacement mandate 18-24 months with possibility of extension. They also offer the possibility of teleworking in the current context.

THE STRATEGIC ROLE: Director, Accounting

Under supervision of the Vice-President and Controller of the company, the Director, Accounting will work together with a team of motivated and innovative collaborators.

More specifically, these tasks will consist of:

Coordinate and ensure the execution of the following activities ensuring the efficiency of the accounting department in accordance with the objectives of the company :

  • Accounting of business entities
  • Prepare instructions for closing the books of business entities
  • Ensure the implementation of rigorous processes for positions under the responsibility of the general accounting team
  • Ensure the preparation of quarterly balance sheet analyzes as well as the review of analyzes prepared by business entities
  • Provide the required assistance for the internal and external audit of business entities
  • Prepare and manage the budget of its department
  • Develop and ensure production monitoring reports and performance indicators
  • Participate in various committees within the company
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data under its governance
  • Follow up on the rigorous application of policies and procedures in accordance with service agreements
  • Ensure adequate internal controls for the general accounting department
  • S ” ensure that the time required to produce information is reduced by identifying and ensuring the implementation of the tools necessary to achieve this objective.
  • Participate in the various departmental projects, as needed

  • Provide expertise in accounting processes to internal employees and entitiesbusiness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Have a recognized accounting designation (CPA)
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of accounting experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of team management experience
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft (an asset)
  • Excellent command of French and good knowledge of English, both oral and written
