Key Qualifications:

+ Grade 12 education or equivalent

+ Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) an asset.

+ Valid food handlers certificate

+ Previous hospital experience working in Nutrition & Food Services an asset

+ Ability to work under minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks

+ Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential

+ Customer service skills essential

+ Basic math skills required

+ Ability to work as part of a team

+ A positive work and attendance record is essential

Position Summary:

+ Tray delivery to units

+ Nourishment delivery to patients room

+ Transportation of patient food carts to and from patient care unit

+ Meal service (meal tray assembly)

+ Portion hot beverages

+ Work in dish room/ cleaning duties

+ Clean pots/ collect garbage, sanitize garbage containers, clean up spills

Language Ability:

+ Effective verbal/written communication skills in English are essential. This includes the ability to read and write

Physical Demands:

+ Must have the physical strength to meet requirements of job

+ Considerable walking, lifting, standing and bending

+ Concentration with attention to detail, especially when working on the patient food service beltline

+ Standing for long periods of time in one spot

+ Working in both hot and cold temperature environments
