Transport Canada (TC) is a department of the Government of Canada that serves the public interest through the promotion of a safe, secure, efficient, and environmentally responsible transportation system in Canada that is Agile, Trusted, and Smart. TC plays a key leadership role in ensuring that all parts of the transportation system (air, rail, marine, and road travel) across Canada work together effectively by collaborating with various groups including Indigenous people, industry, provincial and territorial governments and international partners.
Transport Canada’s Solutions Centre is a branch within the Digital Services Directorate (DSD) of TC that is responsible for providing technical support for Corporate Services applications.
Solutions Centre Financial Application Support Team provides technical support, guidance, troubleshooting, development and coding support for the Financial and Administrative portfolio of applications.
The biggest application in that portfolio is the Oracle Financials E-Business Suite R12 (Oracle EBS). TC successfully upgraded to Oracle EBS Release 12.2.7 in 2018. TC also implemented functionality called Receiver General Buy Button (RGBB) for credit-card processing.
– Installing / configuring / upgrading of Oracle server software and related products.
-Starting and stopping the Oracle EBS (Enterprise Business Suite) application.
-Monitoring Oracle EBS application related products like oacore, oafm apache etc.
-Bouncing apache, oacore, oafm as needed.
-Establishing and maintaining backup and recovery policies and procedures.
-Taking care of the database design and implementation.
-Implementing and maintaining database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
-Technical trouble shooting and providing solutions to development teams.
– Degree in computer science or relevant field
– Experience as a Senior Database Administrator
– Experience with Oracle
