The opportunityOur client, a Canadian-based global SaaS company, has a greenfield opportunity for a Data Engineer. You will aggregate, organize and ingest data from various sources ensuring it can be accessed efficiently by internal and external users and applications. You will collaborate across teams on technical aspects of data migration and storage as well as in a consultative manner guiding new builds.Who you are – and why you should joinYou are a Data Engineer with hands-on expertise across a broad range of traditional and non-traditional technologies. You excel as a technical advisor on a cross-functional, collaborative team. You want to provide insights and drive key decisions for a new build with great visibility and global impact.The new Data Engineer will:Gain an in-depth understanding of existing cloud products and how numerous internal and external groups access and interact with data.Create and support an ETL solution using AWS Glue to extract, import, and store data from various sources into the new data lake. Create data pipelines, reports, visualisations and extracts to support product and research needs. Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.Research data governance and security to ensure data storage methodology adheres to any constraints and follows best practices.Show the initiative to research, test, and solve complex data engineering problems and big data storage issues.What you bring:A commitment to working in Agile, you thrive working across inter-disciplinary groups, including architects, developers, product, and management, to build great products.
