General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking for an enthusiastic and determined Cyber Security Engineer to join our Calgary Cyber team. Reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security Solutions (CSS) the successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise in Cyber security and will work closely with our customer and internal teams in the execution of our programs. This is an intermediate to working level position.As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and understanding customer inputs, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary range of colleagues and with stakeholders. You will analyze and synthesize information, assess Cyber Security risk areas and seek opportunities to make recommendations on potential course of action. You will be working in a laboratory environment to develop and execute test cases, monitor system design, provide design advice and troubleshoot various systems which would support the laboratory and operational environment. In addition, you will provide progress reports to the Cyber Security Architect to support internal and formal technical reviews.Essential SkillsMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical/science/mathematics degree with proof of continuous development of Cyber Security related professional knowledge and/or skills.3-5 years of related experience.Experience in one or more of these areas: Network Security principles and practice, Vulnerability Analysis, Threat Risk Assessment, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts with hands-on implementation as well as Operating System Hardening.Hands-On experience with one or more of the following products: Microsoft Enterprise network suite of software, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), VMware vSphere, ESXi & vCenterMust have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.High degree of initiative and work habits that accomplish functional and business goals with autonomy.Ideally you will have experience inIndustry certification such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC, Security+, Network+, etc., or other related networking or security certifications would be viewed as an assetKnowledge and experience with current government and industry standards such as CSE ITS Guidance, DISA STIGs, ITSG-33, ITSG-22, NIST SP-800 suite, ISO/IEC and other related standards is an asset.Knowledge or experience of Security Operations Center (SOC) technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Intrusion prevention System (IPS), and machine learning technologies is an asset.Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
