Minimum 3-year previous experience at accounting manager or controller level
Previous experience with system implementation preferred
Quickbooks experience preferred
Key Accountabilities
Corporate accounting:
Oversee full cycle accounting function, including A/Rs, A/Ps, bank reconciliations, GL maintenance (two accountants on staff)
Review month end and quarter end closing, including HST, WSIB, EHT and other government filings
Review biweekly payroll prepared by HR personnel through ADP, review annual T4 filing
Prepare year-end financial package for the external accountants (review engagement under ASPE)
Prepare monthly financial reporting and communicate to the senior management
Assist VP to prepare quarterly financial reporting package for management and investors
Perform corporate budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
Manage company’s banking relationships
Maintain company policies and procedures
Prepare month and quarter end financial reporting to the investors and lenders
Review HST filings, communicate with the CRA regarding queries, examinations, and audits
Project accounting:
Oversee and review project progress draws completed by accounting team (2)
Prepare monthly project reporting package including project profitability, equipment utilization and perform actual to budget variance analysis
