As the Project Advisor in Performance Analytics & Reporting, you will be responsible for implementing the OEB’s utility performance analysis and reporting activities. We will count on your skills and experience to be a champion of the OEB’s focus on driving continuous improvement.

+ Initiates and develops plans to achieve and deliver data analytics frameworks

+ Identifies relevant issues and provides in-depth analysis associated with financial and non-financial data for regulated entities

+ Provides subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders regarding best practices for data gathering and integration with current processes of reporting

+ Working closely with other departments, supports policy implementation through specialized reporting requirements and data analysis

+ Conceptualizes and builds analytical models to improve reporting and industry analytics and presents information to both internal and external stakeholders

+ Leads projects related to performance assessment (e.g. enhancement of utilities scorecard)

+ Case manages the work performed by team members including advising on analytics best practices and utility operations

+ Prepares and/or reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical and project status reports/publications, ensuring information published is accurate and thorough

+ Develops and/or enhances new and/or existing policies and procedures

+ Monitors the Ontario energy sector and OEB developments from all relevant internal and external sources

+ Builds and maintains industry contacts to enhance sector knowledge and aid in the acquisition of required information

+ Undergraduate degree in Finance; Economics; Mathematics; Data Science; Engineering or a related field

+ 8+ years of relevant experience in the energy sector including performance assessment, industry insights, asset management, system planning

+ 5+ years’ experience translating large data sets into actionable information and valuable insights for decision making purposes

+ Experience with electric utilities and knowledge of utility performance metrics, including key drivers and challenges

+ Experience in a utility or regulatory environment is preferred

+ Knowledge of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 and related regulatory policies is an asset;

+ Demonstrated experience with data analytical solutions and tools –, SQL, VBA, Oracle BI, SAS, R, Tableau, Alteryx is an asset

+ Knowledge of financial/management reporting

+ Demonstrated success leading projects with interdisciplinary teams, aligning stakeholder expectations, and managing project timelines / deliverables

+ Advance experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must

+ Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
