The Community Events and Marketing Coordinator is part of the events and marketing team and has the primary purpose of supporting resident and community engagement, event support, and marketing initiatives.This team member isa dynamic individual who is passionate about planning events that foster connection and sense of community and engage both tenants and residents.This role aims to provide industry leading levels of customer service and first class facilities while recognizing and realizing cost efficiencies.Who You Are:You have a passion for events that have polish and create engagementYou understand different types of events and are always on the look out for new trends and things to bring to lifeYou have mad skills with customers, and guests – and you create an unreal experience for them and manage them appropriatelyYou are adept with managing partnerships and relationships with vendors and key stakeholdersYou can handle taking charge, solving problems, and have serious hustleYou have marketing chops that allow you to propel the communications and promotions of your eventYou work well when collaborating with others, you are astute at gaging a crowd and acting/leading/responding accordingly, and you are always up for giving and receiving feebackYou are a problem-solver have mastered “figuring-it-out” and have a black-belt in Google-Fu You can run projects inception to completionYou are curious and love learning; you take experiences, processes, and practices to the next levelYou are a strong written and verbal communicator, especially in sticky situationsYou are comfortable working with a team that provides candid feedback and works move the needle daily You are a responsible and diligent individual who is a teamplayer and takes ownership of their projects Event Planning and ExecutionPlan and execute engaging events that create a sense of valuePlanning is to be strategically done with the support of the Marketing team and is to be aligned with the values and vision for each property that requires events Curate a wide variety of events to appeal to a variety of preferencesLeverage current happenings, holidays, and events to drive and enhance eventsCoordinate all logistical aspects of the event, including sourcing service/product providersManage budgeting, vendors, and communications; including all event agreementsCreate knowledge management for each event and ensure communication is clear to and between keystakeholders Generate partnerships that build business for Westcorp and our tenantsCreate communications plan for each event and monthly calendar (ex. newsletter, eblasts, website, social)Complete and circulate monthly outcomes and reportingTrain Security Staff on after hour’s event management and assist with the training of security personnel as required for after hours follow upCompete monthly reconciliations and variance reportsThe goal: create a sense of engagement and belonging including extraordinary customer service and elements of delight and surpriseManage the rentable spacesThis includes and isn’t limited to: conducting daily walk-throughs to ensure that managing bookings (private theatre, private dining room hall), resolving queries, preparing the booked spaces, and educating users of the spaceCommunicate any operational issues to the team and manage solutionsComplete and circulate monthly reportingDoing these duties in a timely manner The goal: manage a seamless booking experience and create value that has tenants and residents wanting to continually live and work hereChampion Diversions and the brandThis includes and isn’t limited to: being the face of Diversions, noting any operational issues with the facility and communicating them, resolving queries, building relationshipsRegularly meet and update key stakeholders including the marketing team, leasing teams, and property management teamsCapture moments of the brand and activation for use on digital platformsDoing these duties in a timely manner The goal: create value that has tenants wanting to continually live hereBe an ambassador and team player for WestcorpExecute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.Ensure local, provincial, & federal laws and regulations are being observed at the communityEnsure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Playbook policiesComplete other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Abilities:Ideally Post-secondary education in marketing, event-planning, communications, or related field1-3years of relevant experienceStandard First Aid or NLS certification (Lifeguard) an assetHighly proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Front Page, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint)Experience in Adobe Creative Studio or other design programs an assetMust be available to work evenings and weekends as requiredMust be an outgoing individual who is socially inclined with strong interpersonal skillsExceptional communication ability, written and verbalHigh degree of professionalism and dedication to all stakeholdersMust be flexible and willing to change roles or responsibilities asrequiredSecurityclearance required upon offer of employmentPossess sensational customer service philosophyMust have own vehicle and valid driver’s licenseHighly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environmentIn alignment with our Westcorp Values:Integrity, Vitality, Accountability, Results, Collaboration, Learning and InnovationWestcorp thanks all applicants for their interest in this career opportunity.
