English Bay Batter started its journey in the early 1980’s next to English Bay, with a single café located on Denman Street, in the vibrant west end of Vancouver.

In 2017 English Bay Bakery joined Cérélia Group and continues to provide its partners and customers with best in class dough solutions, including cookie dough and baked cookies, pie & puff pastry dough and pizza dough.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr Commercial Finance Manager, the Commercial Finance Analyst will liaise between the Sales/Operations and Finance teams. Main priorities for the role are customer profitability planning, Operational efficiency, and reporting. In addition, there will be a key focus on financial modeling and support ERP implementation (Trade Spend Modules)

• Customer specific pricing and trade spend assessments – including close-outs, temporary price reductions and feature pricing analysis (i.e., Black Friday).
• Assists on creation of customer profitability models up to date with the latest pricing
• Assist in setting and tracking annual customer productivity goals (i.e., margin improvement thru product mix, pricing).
• Work with collections team to ensure proper coding of the subledger to identify the transfer of fund from marketing/trade marketing to allowances on a quarterly basis.
• Upload and maintenance of trade spend rates in JustFoods (ERP) system.
• Minimise risk to business results by ensuring trade spend liability is accurately reflected in the balance sheet and that trade spend expenditure is accurately stated in the periodic P&L reports
• Provide accurate and insightful business reporting on a daily and monthly basis and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the trade spend systems data is maintained to a high level.
• Work with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to confirm inputs and credibility of final transformation and logistics cost budgets and forecasts for Toronto plants.
• Assist the Sr Cost Accountant with transformation activities associated with process re-engineering and ERP implementation.
• Lead and/or participate in various finance and non-finance specific business projects as required.  

Entrance Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Accounting or Finance is required
• +3 years experience in manufacturing, preferably CPG industry,
• Results-oriented change agent through demonstrated initiative and drive.
• Agility, curiosity, and willingness to bring impactful change.
• Strong analytical ability and knowledge of accounting principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be adept at working independently and in team atmosphere with excellent time management.
• Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft application.
• Working knowledge of Power BI.
